Leading public sector lender Canara Bank share price today witnessed rally of 3.18% to Rs 96.64 per share on Bombay Stock Exchange as Sensex plunged 75.76 points to 80,671 in afternoon trade. The public sector bank today reported a growth of 33.15% year-on-year (YoY) in its net profit for Q4FY25 to Rs 5002.66 crore from Rs 3757.23 crore reported in Q4FY24. Board of Directors of the PSU also recommended a dividend of Rs 4/- per equity share of the face value of Rs 2/- each for financial year 2024-25. Earlier, Canara Bank shares plunged 2.93% in last 2-weeks when Sensex gained 1.05%, BSE BANKEX index fell 1.53%, and BSE Financial Services index slipped 1.52.
The bank has a market cap of Rs 87,413.87 crore and offers a return on equity (ROE) of 16.26%. Life Insurance Corporation Of India (LIC) has stake of 5.72% in Canara Bank with 518,925,972 shares of the PSU bank for March 2025 quarter. Canara Bank Recommends Dividend
According to the exchange filing of the PSU dated May 8, 2025, โRecommended Dividend of Rs. 4/- per equity share (i.e., 200%) of face value of Rs.2/- each to the shareholders for the financial year 2024-25 subject to the approval of Shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Bank.โ
Canara Bank Q4FY25 Results
The bank announced its total income for Q4FY25 at Rs 37,352.80 crore, reflecting a jump of 9.78% YoY as against Rs 34,025.18 crore announced in the corresponding quarter of last year. Total expenses of the PSB stood at Rs 29069.13 crore for the quarter under consideration as compared to Rs 26,637.72 crore declared in Q4FY24. ย Meanwhile, the bankโs operating profit for Q4FY25 zoomed to 8,283.67 crore, up 12.13% YoY from Rs 7,387.46 crore declared in the similar quarter of last year.
According to the exchange filing of the PSU, the earnings per share (EPS) zoomed by 16.98% for quarter under review. Gross Advances stood at Rs10,73,332 Cr, showing a growth of 11.74%.
Global Business rallied by 11.32% YoY to Rs 25,30,215 Cr as at March 2025, Global Deposits increased by 11.01% YoY to Rs 14,56,883 Cr and Global Advance (gross) zoomed by 11.74% YoY to Rs 10,73,332 crore, added the exchange filing.
