An Indian citizen who is at least eighteen years old can be identified using a voter ID card. Once you are eligible to vote in the elections, the Election Commission of India issues a voter ID card. Recently, in order to make it easier to save on your mobile devices, the Election Commission of India has introduced an e-Voter ID card also known as the Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC) in PDF form. This digital version of the traditional voter ID card serves as a crucial identity verification tool for eligible voters, enabling them to participate in elections seamlessly. This digital format offers a number of benefits:

  • Convenience: Voters have the option to print and self-laminate their e-EPIC, save it on their devices, or upload it to DigiLocker.
  • Accessibility: All eligible voters with valid EPIC numbers can use the e-EPIC, which makes it simpler for people to obtain their voter identification.

Key Features of e-EPIC ID

The e-EPIC offers several features that enhance its usability:

  • QR Code Access: Registered voters can access their voter card via a unique QR code scan.

Application Process for e-EPIC

  • Visit the NVSP official website at https://voters.eci.gov.in/
  • Click on the ‘Sign-up’ button.
  • Enter the mobile number or enter Email ID, which is optional. After that enter Captcha code and click ‘Continue’.
  • Enter your ‘First Name’, ‘Last Name’, ‘Password’, ‘Confirm Password’, and click the ‘Request OTP’ button.
  • Fill out Form 6, which serves as the application form for new voters.
  • After submitting your details, you will receive an OTP for verification.

Tracking Your Application Status

Applicants can track their application status using the reference number provided during registration. Additionally, assistance is available through a helpline number—1950—if needed.

How To Download e-Voter ID Card From NVSP?

Once registration is verified, you can download your e-EPIC directly from the NVSP portal. The government allows voters to download digital voter identification cards from the NVSP.

To download the e-EPIC card, follow these steps:

  • Visit the webpage for the National Voters Services Portal (NVSP).
  • To log in, either register on the website or enter all of your valid credentials.
  • On the site, click the “E-EPIC Download” option.
  • Choose the “EPIC No.” or “Form Reference No.”
  • Input the form reference number or EPIC number that you were given while completing the form.
  • Select the state and click on the “Search” button. The screen will show the Voter ID information. Select the “Send OTP” option.
  • Click “Verify” after entering the OTP that was provided to your registered mobile number.
  • Click the “Download e-EPIC” button when the OTP is validated.

(Please note – order to get the OTP, your mobile number must be updated on the portal. On the NVSP website, you can update your mobile number by filing “Form 8.”)
