LIC Q4 Results: Net Profit Zooms 38%, Rs 12/Sh Dividend Declared; Buy?

Life Insurance Corporation of India share price today ended with the gain of 0.12% on Bombay Stock Exchange to Rs 871.05 per share. The PSU insurer today declared a surge of 38% year-on-year (YoY) in its net profit to Rs 19,013 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2025 as against the net profit of Rs 13,782 crore declared in the corresponding quarter of last year. The state-run firm also recommended highest ever dividend of Rs 12/- per equity share of the face value of Rs 10.00/- each for the FY ended March 31, 2025. The stock gained 17.53% in last 3-months and surged 44.20% in last 2-years. The company has a market capitalisation of Rs 5,50,938.92 crore. Check more details below:

LIC Q4FY25 Results

The state-backed company announced its net premium income for Q4 slid 3.2% to Rs 1,47,917 crore as compared to Rs 1,52,767 crore reported in the similar quarter of last year. The PSU’s solvency ratio stood at 2.11 times for the quarter under review as compared to 1.98 times declared in the year-ago period. The Profit after Tax (PAT) for the year ended March 31st 2025 announced at Rs. 48,151 crore as compared to Rs. 40,676 crore for the year ended March 31st 2024, indicating a growth of 18.38%.

The Total Premium Income for year ended March 31st 2025 was Rs. 4,88,148 crore as compared to Rs. 4,75,070 crore for the year ended March 31st 2024. The Total Individual Business Premium for the year ended March 31st 2025 increased to Rs. 3,19,036 crore from Rs. 3,03,768 crore for the comparable period of previous year. The Group Business total premium income for year ended March 31st 2025 was Rs. 1,69,112 crore as compared to Rs 1,71,302 crore for the year ended March 31st 2024.

For the year ended March 31st 2025, the persistency ratios on premium basis for the 13th month and 61st month were 74.84% and 63.12% respectively. The comparable persistency ratios for the corresponding year ended March 31st, 2024 were 77.66% and 60.88% respectively.

The Assets Under Management (AUM) increased to Rs. 54,52,297 crore as on March 31st 2025 as compared to Rs. 51,21,887 crore on March 31st, 2024 registering an increase of 6.45% year on year.

Shri Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO & M D, LIC said – β€œThe year 2024-25 was a very exciting and challenging year for our business. After registering a very strong performance in the first six months, we had to redesign and relaunch products to comply with regulatory changes. However, we are very happy to state that this year, we have achieved many milestones. First, we have achieved Individual New Business Premium of Rs 62,495 crore, in a single year. Second, our Net VNB for the year is Rs 10,011 crore, i.e. over Rs 10,000 crore for the first time. Third, our VNB margin is steadily on the rise, reaching 17.6% as at 31st March 2025.”

LIC Recommends Final Dividend

According to the exchange filing of the leading PSU insurer issued as on May 27, 2025, β€œRecommended a final dividend of Rs. 12/- per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, subject to declaration by Members of the Corporation in the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM).”

LIC Sets Record Date For Final Dividend

The BSE filing added, β€œFurther, in terms of Regulation 42 of the Listing Regulations, the Board has fixed July 25, 2025 as the β€œRecord Date” for the purpose of ascertaining the eligibility of members of the Corporation for the proposed final dividend.”

Earlier in 2024, the PSU declared Rs 6 per share final dividend and Rs 4 per share interim dividend. In 2023, it declared a final dividend of Rs 3.00 per share and in 2022, it announced a final dividend of Rs 1.50 per share.

LIC Reveals Date of Upcoming AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Members of the Corporation will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, as per the BSE filing.

The 52-week high of Life Insurance Corporation of India stock price on BSE stood at Rs 1221.50 per share (as on 01/08/2024) and 52-week low price is Rs 715.35 per share (as on 03/03/2025), respectively. LIC stock price declined 2.83% year-to-date (YTD), plunged 15.91% in last 1-year, and gained 44.20% in last 2-years. The stock delivered shareholders returns of 6.03% in last 2-years.

LIC Shares Declined 28.69% From 52-Week High Value

The PSU stock price witnessed decline of 28.69% from its 52-week high price of Rs 1221.50 at the current stock price of Rs 871.05 per share.

Should You Buy LIC Shares?

Brokerage firm Anand Rathi said the PSU formed a solid base in the range of Rs 730– Rs 780, a zone that coincides with key long-term supports. This confluence of support added strong strength to the structure. After a prolonged 6–7 week consolidation, the stock recently broke out and is now comfortably trading above the breakout zone, showing strong price acceptance. Adding to the bullish sentiment, the weekly RSI climbed to nearly 53, marking its highest level in the past six to seven months, reflecting improving momentum. “We suggest going long in the Rs 845– Rs 860 range, with an upside potential towards Rs 960. A daily close below Rs 810 should be used as a stop loss,” added the brokerage firm.
