The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will be issued today, benefiting eligible farmer households across the nation. Scheme Overview

Until now, the scheme has assisted over 11 crore farmers through 18 installments, with 9.58 crore farmers receiving benefits in the previous installment.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the PM-KISAN scheme, applicants must be land-holding agriculture-practicing families. However, certain categories are excluded:
- Former and present holders of constitutional posts
- Former and present Ministers/State Ministers
- Former and present Members of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assemblies/State Legislative Councils
- Former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations
- Former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats
- Serving or retired officers and employees of Central/State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments, its field units, Central or State PSEs, Attached offices/Autonomous Institutions under the Government (excluding Multi-Tasking Staff/Class IV/Group D employees)
- Superannuated/retired pensioners receiving a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more (excluding multi-tasking staff / Class IV/Group D employees)
- Farmers who have paid income tax in the previous assessment year
How to Check Beneficiary Status?
Farmers can check their beneficiary status on the official PM Kisan website:
Step 01: Go to the PM Kisan website.
Step 02: Navigate to the ‘Beneficiary Status’ page.
Step 03: Click on ‘Beneficiary Status.’
Step 04: Enter your Aadhaar number or account number.
Step 05: Click on ‘Get Data’ to view your beneficiary status.
Mandatory eKYC Process
All PM Kisan-registered farmers must complete their eKYC process. There are three available methods:
- OTP-based e-KYC: Accessible through the PM-Kisan Portal and Mobile App.
- Biometric-based e-KYC: Available at Common Service Centres (CSCs) and State Seva Kendras (SSKs).
- Face authentication-based e-KYC: Available on the PM Kisan Mobile App.
Voluntary Surrender of PM-KISAN Benefits
If a farmer wishes to surrender their PM-KISAN benefits, they can do so on the PM Kisan website:
Step 01: Scroll down and click on the ‘voluntary surrender of PM-kisan benefits’ tab.
Step 02: Enter the registration number and captcha code, then click on ‘Get OTP’.
Step 03: Enter the OTP received on the Aadhaar-registered mobile number.
Step 04: Click ‘Yes’ on ‘Do you wish to surrender your PM Kisan Benefit’ and enter the OTP.
It’s important to note that after surrendering the benefits, farmers will not be able to receive further PM-Kisan cash benefits or register for the scheme again.
