Havells India today informed that it has approved a strategic minority investment of Rs 600 crore in Goldi Solar Private Limited (Goldi). Last trading price of Havells India shares on BSE stood at Rs 1531.90 per share with intraday gain of 4.15% as on April 11, 2025. Havells share price witnessed gain of 4.25% in last 1-week and zoomed 2.01% in last 1-year. The company has a market cap of Rs 96,041.20 crore. Its return on equity stood at 18.16%. The BSE 100 stock operates in consumer electronics. Life Insurance Corporation Of India (LIC) has 3.62% stake in Havells with 22,682,919 shares of the company. Havells Declares Strategic Investment in Goldi Solar
According to the exchange filing of the company dated April 14, 2024, “Havells has approved a strategic minority investment of INR 600cr in Goldi Solar Private Limited (Goldi). Investment emphasises Havells ambitions and commitment in fast growing renewable sector around mega trend of “Energy transition”.
Havells investment is part of proposed fund raise by Goldi of upto INR 1,300 crore which is expected to be completed within next 75 days.
Havells has been evaluating multiple possible ways to participate in this mega trend through solutions for energy generation, storage, distribution and consumption etc. Energy transition is an adjacency to Havells’ existing portfolio. Renewable energy capacity is projected to grow at a CAGR of 16% till 2030, reaching approximately 500GW, (64% of total energy capacity). Out of the 500GW, ~300GW is anticipated to come from solar energy sources, added the press release.
Goldi is a leading solar player which is family-owned entity of Mr Ishverbhai Dholakiya with group’s multi decadal interest in diamond sector. Goldi was incorporated in 2011.
