ICICI Bank Q3 Results: PAT Jumps 15% YoY, Buy Or Sell?

Board Of Directors of ICICI Bank Ltd, India’s 2nd largest private bank, today declared a surge of 15% year-on-year (YoY) in its net profit to Rs 11,792 crore for Q3 FY25 as compared to Rs 10,272 crore in the similar quarter of last year. Last trading price of ICICI Bank shares on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) stood at Rs 1209.45 per share as on January 24, 2025.

The private sector bank has a market capitalisation of Rs 8,53,945.19 crore. Its return on equity (ROE) stood at 17.46%. ICICI Bank shares zoomed 21.04% in last 1-year and slipped a little over 1% in last 6-months. Check details below:

ICICI Bank Q3 Results

It announced its net interest income (NII) at Rs 20,370.6 crore for Q3 FY25, up 9.1% as compared to Rs 18,678 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year. The net interest margin of the private lender slipped to 4.25% for the quarter under review from 4.43% in the similar quarter of last year and from 4.27% in the earlier quarter. Meanwhile, the banks provisions and contingencies surged approximately 17% to 12.27 billion rupees from 10.49 billion rupee an year ago.

Provisions and contingencies are allocated for potential bad loans. Its asset quality remained more or less stable as the gross non-performing ratio (NPA) arrived at 1.96% for the quarter ended December 31, 2024 as against 1.97% reported three-months earlier.

The 52-week high price of ICICI Bank shares on BSE is Rs 1361.35 per share (as on 20/09/2024) and 52-week low price is Rs 985.15 per share (as on 12/02/2024), respectively. ICICI Bank shares rallied 126.51% in last 5-years, gained 51.52% in last 3-years, and surged 38.89% in last 2-years.

Should You Buy ICICI Shares After Q3 Results

According to A R Ramachandran, SEBI registered Independent research analyst, “ICICI Bank stock price is slightly bullish on the Daily charts with strong support at 1202. A Daily close above resistance of 1239 could lead to a target of 1300 in the near term.”

Meanwhile, Axis Securities also suggested buy call to ICICI Bank shares with target price of Rs 1500 per share.
