Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, popularly known as PMAY-G, seeks to offer housing for the poor section of the society based in rural areas. The flagship scheme of Indian government works towards achieving the goal of providing affordable housing to the rural poor. The scheme will offer a financial aid of Rs 1,20,000 for construction of homes in the plain areas and Rs 1,30,000 for houses located in hilly areas and naxal-affected regions. It will be integrated with MNREGA as the beneficiaries will get wages for 90-95 days during the complete construction tenure.

How To Be Eligible?
- In order to become eligible for PMAY-G scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
- The name of the applicant should be mentioned in Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 database.
- He must not own any other permanent home.
- Meanwhile, as part of the scheme, priority will be given to BPL families including disabled people, widows, or SC/ST.
Who Will Be Ineligible?
- If a family gets an annual income of over Rs 18 lakh.
- If any family owns a permanent or pucca home in any part of India.
- If a family earlier availed the government housing grants, they will be ineligible for the scheme.
